Gaston County 2024 Youth Rugby Camp - Free Ages 6-16!

This July, get ready for another fantastic season of touch rugby at the 2024 Youth Rugby Camps! Hosted by the Gaston County Parks and Rec and the Gaston County Rugby teams, we are excited to invite all boys and girls, aged 6 to 16, to join us for four fun-filled Thursdays of fitness, friendship, and the thrill of learning a new sport.

Touch rugby, a modified version of traditional rugby, is designed to be a safe and enjoyable game for children. It's a high-energy sport that involves running, dodging, passing, and scoring—think of it as an exhilarating game of tag with a rugby ball! This non-contact form of rugby ensures everyone has a great time without the rough tackles.

The camps will take place at Martha Rivers Park in Gastonia, NC, on July 11, 18, 25, and August 1st, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The spacious, grassy fields of the park provide an ideal setting for kids to learn and play.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of touch rugby, from passing techniques to scoring strategies. More importantly, they will learn about teamwork, respect, and discipline, all within a fun and supportive environment. Our dedicated volunteers from the Gaston County Rugby Men's and Women's teams will be there to guide each child through the process, ensuring they not only learn the sport but also have an unforgettable time.

Whether you're new to rugby or have played before, these camps are designed to be an enjoyable introduction to the sport. Feel free to join one, several, or all sessions—each day offers a new adventure!

To join the excitement, simply visit www.GastonCountyRugby.com, click on the 'Youth Rugby' tab, and register for the camps. We are eager to welcome as many kids as possible, but spots are limited, so sign up soon!

Our Youth Rugby Camps are about more than just playing; they're about learning valuable life skills, making new friends, staying active, and embracing the joy and excitement of rugby. So come out this summer and help us create some more unforgettable rugby moments!
